The region
The quiet end of Banderas Bay
South of town the road narrows, the jungle comes down to the water and the hotels thin out. This is the stretch of coast most visitors only see from a boat.
Next door
Mismaloya and Los Arcos
The beach and fishing village are a few minutes away. Just offshore, the Los Arcos rock formations are a protected marine park and one of the best snorkeling spots on the bay.
By water taxi
Beaches without roads
From Boca de Tomatlán, just down the road, water taxis run to Las Ánimas, Quimixto and Yelapa, beaches you can only reach by boat.
Into town
The Malecón and Old Town
Puerto Vallarta’s seafront boardwalk, the Romantic Zone and most of the city’s restaurants are a short drive north, for the nights you want to go out.
